Charters Towers Combined Agents yarded a total of 2,245 Store cattle. The cattle consisted of 1,239 Steers, 244 Mickeys, 747 Heifers and 15×15 Cows & Calves.

The cattle were made up of only a few good lines of Steers which sold to similar rates. The majority of the yarding was very mixed quality and sold to a cheaper trend.

  • A pen of 24 Brahman Feeder Steers A/c Brown & Sons, “Scottsburn”. Richmond made 304¢/kg and weighed 428kg, returning an average of $1,300 per head.
  • A line of 51 Brangus Backgrounder Steers A/c Flinders River Cattle Co, “Beckers”, Clare sold for 398¢/kg to weigh 312kg and return $1,243 per head.
  • A line of 87 Brahman Backgrounder Steers A/c WH & DE Alford, “Collopy”, Mingela sold for 302¢/kg to weigh 289kg and return $875 per head.
  • A good pen of 10 Heifers on A/c WJ & KL Bethel, “Jenkins Creek”, Georgetown made 264¢/kg, weighed 336kg returning an average of $887 per head.
  • 15 x 15 Cows & Calves on A/c of various vendors sold between $650-$900 per unit.
