Charters Towers Combined Agents yarded a total of 2,699 Store cattle consisting of 719 Steers, 1,500 Heifers, 5 Cows and 475 Mickeys.

Cattle comprised of another mixed quality yarding consisting of mainly feeder weight Steers and Heifers which seen increased competition. Secondary type cattle still receiving subdued rates with limited interest. Isolated pens of better Brahman and Crossbred Weaner Steers made similar rates to last week. The yarding was drawn from Mt Isa, Hughenden, Greenvale, Georgetown, Einasleigh, as well as local and coastal areas.

  • A pen of 20 Heavy Feeder Steers A/c Alford Grazing, Charters Towers sold for 384¢/kg, to weigh 460kg and return $1,776 per head.
  • A pen of 20 Weaner Steers A/c Cattle JV, sold for 394¢/kg, to weigh 196kg and return $776 per head.
  • A run of 101 Feeder Heifers A/c Trafalgar Pastoral , sold for 376¢/kg to weigh 361kg and return $1,360 per head.
  • A pen of 21 Heifers A/c D & D Jones sold for 356¢/kg, to weigh 330kg and return $1,177 per head.
  • A pen of 17 Mickey Weaners A/c Khartoum Pastoral sold to a top of 350¢/kg, to weigh 221kg and return $773 per head.
  • Cows and Calves were mixed lots selling from $1,000 to $1,550 per unit.
