Charters Towers Combined Agents yarded a total of 3,067 Store Cattle. The cattle consisted of 1,599 Steers, 1,375 Heifers, 75 Store Cows and 18 Cows & Calves.

Store Cattle were made up of predominantly light weight Brahman Steers and Heifers with isolated pens of feeder weight cattle. All categories still receiving firm competition from both restockers and feed lotters, buyers again were very active on any suitable crossbred types. The yarding was drawn from Mt Isa, Richmond, Hughenden, Burketown, Croydon, Einasleigh, Mt Garnet as well as local and coastal areas.

  • A pen of Brahman Mickeys on A/C L & M Brazier, made 296c/kg weighing 250kg returning $740/hd.
  • A pen of Heifers on A/C Cambil Brahmans, topped at 306c/kg weighing 349kg returning $1,068/hd.
  • A run of 46 Crossbred Heifers on A/C Gilguntah Grazing Co, made 294c/kg weighing 262c/kg returning $770/hd.
