CHARTERS TOWERS STORE CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – FRIDAY 5TH SEPTEMBER 2025

Charters Towers Combined Agents yarded a total of 4,885 Store cattle consisting of 2,345 Steers, 568 Mickeys, 1,913 Heifers and 59 x 59 Cows & Calves. 

Store cattle consisted of a good quality yarding with several large consignments of Brahman X Steers and Heifers penned. Isolated pens of well-bred Crossbred cattle were also on offer and sold to strong demand. A number of Heifers were breeder quality selling to premiums and returning to the paddock. All regular feedlot buyers, exporters and backgrounders were in attendance, with all categories selling to a dearer trend.

The yarding was drawn from Mt Isa, Hughenden, Georgetown, Normanton, Lakeland, Croydon, Greenvale as well as local and coastal areas.

  • 328 VGQ NO. 4 Red Brahman Steers on A/c Rapisarda Enterprises, “Woodhouse Station”, Ayr topped at 374¢/kg to average 361¢/kg, to average 334kg returning an average of $1,210 per head.
  • A very good line of 184 No.5 Brahman X Steers on A/c N & R Weir, “Inverleigh Station”, Normanton topped at 460¢/kg for the Crossbred portion, with the Brahman portion averaging 392¢/kg, weighing an average of 243kg, to return $960 per head.
  • A good pen of 16 Droughtmaster Steers on A/c Brown & Sons, “Mayfield” Duchess made 468¢/kg and weighed 288kg, returning an average of $1,351 per head.
  • Lightweight Crossbred Mickeys topped at 392¢/kg on A/c Matthew Crowley, Broughton that averaged 168kg, to return $660 per head
  • 327 VGQ NO. 4 Red Brahman Heifers on A/c Rapisarda Enterprises, “Woodhouse Station”, Ayr topped at 376¢/kg to average 362¢/kg, to average 294kg returning an average of $1,067 per head.
  • A very good line of 170 No.5 Brahman X Heifers A/c N & R Weir, “Inverleigh Station”, Normanton topped at 356¢/kg to average 339¢/kg, weighing an average of 231kg, to return $784 per head.
  • A good pen of High-Grade Brahman Heifers on A/c Fry Bloodline Trust, “Forest Home” Georgetown made 354¢/kg and weighed 308kg, returning an average of $1,091 per head.
  • 59 x 59 Cows and Calves met good competition ranging from $1,500 to $2,015.
