DALBY CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 13TH AUGUST 2025

Dalby agents penned 6,252 head, including 1,477 cows and 761 head from far western QLD, along with a handful from NSW. All the usual buyers, including southern operators, were present and active in a solid market for the cows offered. Yearling steers and heifers to feed and restock met with very strong competition, lifting prices for better-quality lines by 12c to 33c/kg. Yearling steers in the 200–280kg range sold to 618c/kg. Those over 280kg to background made 552c, averaging 472c/kg. Steers to feed for the domestic market reached 499c and averaged 462c/kg, while heavy yearling steers to feed topped at 508c to average 462c/kg. Yearling heifers in the 200–280kg range to restockers sold to 444c/kg. Heifers over 280kg to feed made 442c, averaging 414c/kg. Medium-weight heifers to feed reached 470c to average 404c/kg, while heavy yearling heifers to feed sold to 488c and averaged 431–458c/kg. Grown steers to feed made 446c to average 420c/kg, with those to processors at 440c and averaging 394–406c/kg. Bullocks to processors averaged 410c and sold to 425c/kg. Grown heifers to processors sold to 430c, averaging from 382c/kg. Lightweight, plain-conditioned cows to processors made 340c to average 304c/kg. Heavy score 3 cows made 370c, averaging 348c/kg, while the best heavy cows sold to 385c and averaged 365c/kg. Heavy bulls to processors sold to 394c and averaged 365c/kg.
