DALBY CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 14TH JANUARY 2026

The number of cattle penned at Dalby increased by 4,533 head to 5,464. The yarding comprised 1,090 cows, 2,275 heifers, 1,297 steers and 283 bulls. Light weight yearling heifers returning to the paddock averaged 10c/kg dearer, while yearling heifers to feed sold to good demand for the quality offered. Bullocks were noticeably dearer and cow prices also showed some improvement. Light weight yearling steers under 200kg returning to the paddock sold to 606c/kg. Yearling steers under 330kg to restockers made to 590c/kg, with the bulk averaging from 515c to 544c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market made to 552c/kg and averaged 505c/kg, while heavy weight yearling steers to feed averaged 500c/kg and sold to 556c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers returning to the paddock averaged from 426c to 433c/kg and sold to 466c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed averaged from 430c to 433c/kg and made to 460c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed made to 480c/kg and averaged 444c/kg, with processor lines reaching 448c/kg. Bullocks made to 490c/kg and averaged 480c/kg, with some lines over 750kg selling to 488c/kg and averaging 484c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows averaged 355c/kg, while heavy weight 3 score cows averaged 379c/kg. The best of the cows sold to 405c/kg and averaged 393c/kg. Heavy weight bulls made to 422c/kg, with some returning up to $4,521 per head.
