DALBY CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 17TH SEPTEMBER 2025

Dalby agents penned 6,817 head, an increase of 329 on last week. The yarding included 572 head from far western QLD and a handful from NSW. All the regular processors and feeder buyers were in attendance, along with local restockers. Yearling steers to feed sold to a dearer trend, with heavy steers to feed firm on last week. Grown steers to processors maintained values close to the previous sale, while cows lifted a few cents and heavy bulls sold to a dearer market. Yearling steers 200-280kg sold to 532c/kg to average 501c, with those over 280kg to background making 544c and averaging 488c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market sold to 538c, while heavy yearling steers to feed reached 522c to average 481c/kg. Yearling heifers 200-280kg to restockers sold to 468c to average 426c/kg, while those over 280kg to background sold to 472c to average 447c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed sold to 474c and averaged 427c/kg, with heavy yearling heifers to feed making 480c and averaging 426c/kg. Bullocks to processors sold to 440c to average 424c/kg, while grown heifers to processors made 450c to average 418c/kg. Light weight plain-conditioned cows to processors sold to 369c to average 345c/kg, while heavy score 3 cows made 400c to average 383c/kg, and the best heavy cows sold to 410c to average 395c/kg. Light weight bulls to feed made 490c to average 383c/kg, while heavy bulls to processors sold to 463c and averaged 429c/kg.
