DALBY CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 20TH AUGUST 2025
The number of cattle penned at Dalby reduced by 203 head to 6,049, with the cow supply easing to 1,055 head. Buyer attendance remained strong with all active in the market, while restockers displayed increased interest in the light weight yearling steers and heifers. Heavy cows also experienced a small improvement. Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock sold to 606c, with a good sample averaging 523c to 543c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market averaged 432c to 499c, with the occasional sale to 544c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed reached 490c and averaged 440c to 450c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers to restockers made to 460c, averaging 423c to 430c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 385c to 423c, with sales reaching 450c/kg, while heavy weight heifers to feed topped at 456c to average 425c/kg. Heavy grown steers to export processors averaged 417c, selling to 449c, while the bullock portion topped at 420c to average 404c/kg. Heavy grown heifers sold to 428c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows averaged 337c and sold to 345c/kg. Heavy weight 3 score cows averaged 363c, with the best cows reaching 393c to average 380c/kg. Heavy bulls to processors sold to 399c, with one heavy bull finding a new home at 408c/kg.
