DALBY CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 22ND APRIL 2026

With numbers easing slightly, the Dalby Agents yarded 8,213 head, including 473 from Western Queensland, 683 from New South Wales, and the balance from the local supply area. The yarding included over 2,200 cows, with all regular buyers in attendance and active, though the market trended easier overall. Yearling steers weighing 200-280kg sold from 280c to 524c/kg for the better types to restockers. Those in the 280-330kg range topped at 496c and averaged 432c/kg to restockers, while 330-400kg steers made from 280c for plainer types up to 428c/kg to lot feeders. Heavier yearling steers (400-480kg) sold from 418c to 458c/kg to lot feeders. Yearling heifers under 200kg reached 238c/kg for the better pens. Heifers weighing 200-280kg made from 210c to 370c/kg to restockers. In the 280-330kg category, heifers sold to 360c/kg to lot feeders, 384c/kg to restockers, and 304c/kg to processors. Heifers weighing 330-400kg made up to 428c/kg to lot feeders and 430c/kg to restockers, while those 400-480kg sold to 314c/kg to processors and 430c/kg to lot feeders. Heifers over 480kg reached 398c/kg to processors. Grown steers weighing 400-500kg sold from 328c to 478c/kg to lot feeders, and those 500-600kg made from 320c to 460c/kg, also to lot feeders. Bullocks over 600kg reached 414c/kg to processors. Grown heifers over 540kg sold to 410c/kg to restockers and 398c/kg to processors. A large number of cows were penned, with 3-score cows selling to 339c and averaging 315c/kg. The 2-score cows (400-520kg) made from 146c to 261c/kg to processors, while plainer cows returning to the paddock sold from 150c to 236c/kg. Bulls over 600kg reached 380c/kg to processors.
