DALBY CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 25TH FEBRUARY 2026

Dalby increased by 1,438 head to yard 6,028 cattle. Included in the offering were 1,078 cows and 298 bulls. Export buyer attendance was good, although not all were operating, while the regular panel of feeder and restocker buyers remained active across the sale. Quality played a significant role in pricing, with well-bred lines attracting strong competition. Lightweight yearling steers returning to the paddock sold to 594c/kg to average 533c/kg, with prices varying according to quality but stronger support shown for well-bred lines. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market made to 556c/kg, averaging from 490c to 499c/kg, while heavyweight yearling steers to feed averaged 491c/kg and sold to 511c/kg. Lightweight yearling heifers to restockers improved in price, making to 458c/kg, with most sales from 407c to 424c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 402c/kg and made to an isolated 465c/kg. A better quality lineup of heavyweight yearling heifers to feed lifted averages by 10c/kg, with the category averaging 424c/kg and top quality lines reaching 468c/kg. Heavy grown steers and bullocks averaged 6c/kg less, with bullocks making to 460c/kg to average 434c/kg. Grown heifers sold to 448c/kg. The cow market remained firm to 5c/kg dearer. Medium weight 2 score cows averaged 337c/kg and made to 347c/kg, while heavy weight 3 score cows averaged 365c/kg. The best of the heavy cows sold to 395c/kg to average 385c/kg. Heavy weight bulls made to 407c/kg.
