DALBY CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 26TH NOVEMBER 2025
The movement of larger numbers of cattle nationally continued at Dalby, with agents penning 9,215 head, the highest yarding in over five years. The offering included a large sample of 1,309 cows and 517 bulls. Heavy-weight cattle dominated the sale, with 7,514 head in the first round and only 1,701 light-weight lines. Export buyer attendance was strong, and the regular panel of feeder, trade, and restocker operators were active throughout the market. Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock sold close to the previous week’s levels, while medium and heavy weight yearling steers to feed varied in price depending on quality. Yearling heifers followed a similar trend, with price movements mostly quality related. Most export processor lines were unable to maintain the rates of the previous sale. Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock reached a top of 596c and averaged 530c to 544c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market made to 582c, averaging 510c to 527c/kg. A very large run of heavy weight yearling steers to feed averaged 504c and sold to 526c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers to restockers topped at 478c to average 427c to 434c/kg.
