DALBY CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 3RD SEPTEMBER 2025

The trend of larger yardings continued at Dalby, with agents penning 6,926 head, an increase of 624. Cow numbers eased from recent highs with 982 head penned. A full panel of export buyers were present and active, along with the regular feed, trade and restocker operators. Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock averaged 25–30c/kg dearer, topping at 596c, with large numbers averaging 533–540c/kg. Medium and heavy weight yearling steers to feed sold 12–26c/kg higher, with domestic types averaging 519–520c and selling to 560c/kg, while heavy weights made to 544c and averaged 491–499c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers to restockers sold to a market 8–10c/kg dearer, reaching 460c and averaging 425–426c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 438c and sold to 478c/kg, while heavy weights averaged 443c with an isolated sale to 492c/kg. Heavy grown steers made to 436c, while bullocks reached 432c to average 416–423c/kg. The cow yarding was dominated by heavy weight classes, with 3 scores selling to 381c and averaging 372c/kg, while the best heavy cows topped at 405c, averaging 394c/kg and returning up to $3,095/head. Light weight bulls to restockers sold to 528c/kg, while heavy weight bulls made to 405c/kg.
