DALBY CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 4TH FEBRUARY 2026

Numbers at Dalby increased by 1,839 head to total 6,104. The yarding included a large sample of 1,300 cows and 332 bulls. Buyer representation across all classes was good, with all buyers operating actively in the market. Lightweight yearling steers returning to the paddock averaged 7c to 11c/kg dearer. Heavyweight yearling steers to feed regained some of the previous week’s losses, averaging 8c/kg higher. Lightweight yearling heifers to restockers sold to a stronger trend, improving by over 20c/kg. Heavy grown steers and bullocks improved by around 10c/kg, while cows experienced small overall improvements. Lightweight yearling steers returning to the paddock averaged 510c to 528c/kg, with sales reaching 559c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market made to 526c/kg and averaged from 468c to 497c/kg. Heavyweight yearling steers to feed topped at 505c/kg and averaged 476c/kg. Lightweight yearling heifers to restockers made to 458c/kg and averaged from 392c to 414c/kg. Yearling heifers to feed reached 448c/kg and averaged from 388c to 400c/kg, while heavyweight yearling heifers to feed made to 430c/kg and averaged 415c/kg. Bullocks sold to 480c/kg and averaged 459c/kg, with grown heifers making to 440c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows averaged 345c/kg and sold to 353c/kg. Heavyweight 3 score cows averaged 371c/kg, with the best cows making to 393c/kg and averaging 383c/kg. Heavyweight bulls topped at 404c/kg.
