  • Yarding Numbers: 1,855
  • Location: Emerald
  • Date: September 4, 2025

Emerald combined agents yarded 1,855 head at the Prime & Store sale. Prime cattle sold to increased competition with good lines of generally local cattle, with two mixed lines of average quality and finish, ex North Queensland. Steers 600kg + sold to 370c/kg, whilst heavy cows 520kg + sold to 387c/kg and averaged 352c/kg. Heifers in the 400kg+ range sold to a top of 405c/kg and averaged 375c/kg. In summary, heavy prime cattle continued to reach lofty heights. In the store section, feeder weight steers topped at 500c/kg and averaged 425c/kg, a reflection of some lesser types in that range. Steers 200-280kg sold to 486c/kg and averaged 420c/kg, once again driven by lesser types. In the female section, heifers 300-400kg topped at 396c/kg to average 348c/kg, whilst lighter weaners dropped in price largely due to quality and type.
