WARWICK CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – TUESDAY 13TH JANUARY 2026
Total Yarding: 1,202
The number of cattle penned at Warwick for the first sale in 2026 lifted to 1,202 head and there was a wide variation in quality across all classes. The regular panel of buyers returned and all were active in the market. Prices generally remained very close to the levels experienced prior to the annual break.
Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock made to 540c/kg to average 509c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market made to 504c/kg and averaged from 449c/kg to 481c/kg. A large sample of heavy weight yearling steers to feed averaged 459c/kg with sales to 498c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers to restockers made to 468c/kg to average 418c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed averaged from 433c/kg to 436c/kg with the very occasional sale to 496c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers trade made to 448c/kg.
Bullocks made to 486c/kg to average 484c/kg some returning $3,826/head. Medium weight 2 score cows averaged 330c/kg. Heavy weight 3 score cows averaged 369c/kg and the best of the cows made to 400c/kg to average 390c/kg. Heavy weight bulls made to 436c/kg.
