Warwick agents penned 928 head of mixed quality and finished cattle. All the regular buyers attended and operated with prime grown cattle and feeder yearlings in demand and selling to dearer trends. However restockers were selective with only the better bred lines selling to firm prices.
Yearling steers in the 200-280kg range to restockers sold from 438c to 632c/kg. Yearling steers over 280kg to restockers sold from 504c to 592c with those to feed topping at 606c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market sold from 450c to 622c/kg. Heavy yearling steers to feed sold from 460c to 568c with those to the butcher trade topping at 526c/kg.
Yearling heifers in the 200-280kg range to restockers sold from 358c to 500c/kg. Yearling heifers over 280kg to background sold from 428c to 480c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed sold from 430c to 508c/kg. Heavy yearling heifers to the wholesale meat trade sold from 406c to 518c/kg.
Grown steers to feed sold from 368c to 500c/kg. Bullocks to processors sold from 404c to 489c/kg. Grown heifers to processors sold from 392c to 437c/kg. Light weight plain conditioned cows to restockers sold from 267c to 321c with those to processors at 318c to 342c/kg. Heavy score 2 cows to processors sold from 280c to 335c/kg. Heavy score 3 and 4 cows to processors sold from 240c to 385c/kg. Heavy bulls to processors sold from 392c to 470c/kg.
