WARWICK CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – TUESDAY 19TH MAY 2026

Light rain across the general supply area had no effect on numbers at Warwick, with agents penning very close to the previous weeks level of 1,297 head. There was a wide variation in the quality of the cows, and the young cattle section contained a large number of light weight lines. Buyer attendance was good with representatives covering all classes. Light rain fell as the sale progressed and prices responded with improvements of 40c/kg on the young cattle, and cows gained 12c to 20c/kg.
Light weight yearling steers under 280kg to restockers averaged 490c and sold to 570c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market made to 538c and averaged 479c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed averaged 476c with sales to 502c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers under 280kg to restockers made to 404c and averaged 384c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed made to 426c and averaged 384c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 393c and made to 436c, and local trade lines made to 454c with most sales at 424c/kg.
The occasional bullock made to 440c and heavy grown heifers made the 424c/kg. Medium weight 2 score averaged 283c and sold 308c/kg. Heavy weight 3 score cows averaged 327c, and the best of the heavy weight cows made 377c to average 352c/kg. Heavy weight bulls were dearer and sold to 414c/kg.
