WARWICK CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – TUESDAY 26TH AUGUST 2025

There was a small reduction in cattle numbers at Warwick with agents penning 1,077 head, only 98 less than the previous sale. There was a wide variation in quality across most classes. Buyer attendance was good, and all were active in the market.

Light weight yearling steers and heifers returning to the paddock improved in price for the better-quality lines. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed sold to a firm market however a lift in the quality of the heavy weight yearling heifers to feed improved average prices. Cows also sold to a dearer market in places.

Yearling steers under 200kg made to 554c to average 522c/kg. Light weight yearling steers made to 530c to average from 480c to 508c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market made to 520c to average from 437c to 484c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed averaged 431c and made to 445c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers made to 434c to average 384c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed averaged from 384c to 390c and sold to 422c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 392c and made to 430/kg.

Heavy grown steers made to 405c, and heavy grown heifers made to 393c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows averaged 303c/kg. Heavy weight 3 score cows averaged 335c and the best of the cows made to 388c to average 362c/kg some returning $2,930/head. Heavy weight bulls made to 396c/kg.
