WARWICK CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – TUESDAY 27TH MAY 2025

Cattle numbers at Warwick increased by 311 head to 1,113 and there was a large variation in quality across most classes. Export buyer attendance was good and included the regular operators plus the return of a southern exporter. Feed and trade plus restocker buyers were also present and active in a dearer market.

Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock averaged 7c/kg better. Medium and heavy weight yearling steers to feed improved by 14c to 18c/kg. Most classes of yearling heifers to restockers and feed sold to a market 7c to 16c/kg better. Cows sold to a dearer trend of 18c to 24c/kg and more in places pushed on by the southern operator and local restockers.

Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock made to 422c to average 394c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market made to 432c to average 398c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to 416c to average 386c/kg. A couple of heavy weight yearling steers to the local trade market made to 415/kg to return $2,325/head. Light weight yearling heifers to restockers made to 358c to average 298c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed made to 380c to average 334c/kg.

A handful of bullocks made to 368c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows made to 262c to average 252c/kg. Heavy weight 3 score cows averaged 274c and the best of the heavy weight cows made to 294c to average 287c/kg. Heavy weight bulls made to 330c/kg.
