Agents at Warwick penned 1,297 cattle a lift of 220 head. All the regular buyers attended and operated on a solid market for the restocker yearlings, and feeder cattle with grown steers and cows to processors selling to dearer trends.
Yearling steers in the 200-280kg range to background sold to 556c and averaged 509c/kg. Yearling steers over 280kg to restockers sold to 520c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market made 490c to average 453c/kg. Heavy yearling steers to feed sold to 466c and averaged from 449c to 463c/kg. Yearling heifers in the 200-280kg range to restockers made 428c to average 382c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed made 428c to average 388c/kg. Heavy yearling heifers to feed sold to 390c with those to the wholesale meat trade at 435c to average 384c/kg.
Grown steers to processors sold to 420c and averaged from 406 to 408c/kg. Grown heifers to processors sold to 399c and averaged from 377c to 392c/kg. Light weight plain conditioned cows to processors made 310c to average 259c/kg. Heavy score 3 cows to processors made 365c to average 336c/kg. The best heavy cows sold to 404c and averaged 378c/kg. Light weight bulls to restockers made 390c to average 352c/kg. Heavy bulls to processors made 380c to average 347c/kg.
