Warwick agents penned 1,530 cattle a small reduction of 121 head. All the regular processors attended and operated on a dearer market for all export lines. Heavy feeder steers also sold to dearer trends. Along with light weight steers to suit the restocker.
Yearling steers in the 200-280kg range to background sold to 564c and averaged 492c/kg. Yearling steers over 280kg to feed sold to 498c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market improved by 9c/kg selling to 488c and averaging 472c/kg. Heavy yearling steers to feed sold to 484c with those to the wholesale meat trade at 488c to average 476c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers to background sold to 412c/kg. Yearling heifers in the 280-330kg range to feed made 424c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed sold to 448c/kg. Heavy yearling heifers to the wholesale meat trade sold to 466c and averaged from 429c to 433/kg.
Bullocks to processors improved in price selling to 475c and averaging from 451c to 470c/kg. Grown heifers to processors made 434c to average 415c/kg. Light weight cows to processors gained 15c selling to 361c and averaging 321c/kg. Heavy cows to processors sold to 390c and average from 374c to 385c/kg. Light weight bulls to restockers made 432c to average 421c/kg. Heavy bulls to processors gained 10c selling to 424c and averaging 406c/kg.
