WARWICK CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – TUESDAY 5TH AUGUST 2025

The number of cattle penned at Warwick increased by 518 head to 909, and there was a massive increase in the number of cows included in the lineup. The overall quality of the young cattle was good to useful, and some very good cows were penned. The regular buyers were in attendance and operating in a dearer market.

A lift in the standard of the light weight cattle improved prices by up to 50c/kg in places. Yearling steers to feed gained 28c to 38c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers returning to the paddock averaged 46c/kg better. Yearling heifers to feed sold to a market 30c/kg dearer. All classes of cows sold to a much dearer trend of 30c to 50c/kg.

Yearling steers under 200kg made to 508c to average 451c/kg. Yearling steers 200-330kg made to 498c with most from 405c to 437c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market made to 476c to average from 425c to 449c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed averaged 418c and made to 435c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers returning to the paddock made to 426c to average from 368c to 382c/kg. Yearling heifers to feed made to 392c and averaged from 366c to 372c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to the trade made to 420c to average 402c/kg.

A few heavy grown steers sold to export processors at 389c with sales to 400c, and the bullock portion made to 387c/kg. Grown heifers to the wholesale meat trade made to 405c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows averaged 285c and made to 302c/kg. Heavy weight 3 score cows averaged 333c and the best of the heavy weight cows made to 405c, to average 372c some returning $2,895/head. Heavy weight bulls made to 371c/kg to return $3,637/head.
