WARWICK CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – TUESDAY 9TH DECEMBER 2025

Total Yarding: 1,776 (+149)

Despite some rain over parts of the supply area, the number of cattle for the second last sale before the annual break at Warwick increased by 158 head to 1,776. The yarding contained a good supply of cows, and a large number of feeder steers and heifers. There was a large variation in quality across the young cattle section and this was reflected in prices. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed averaged 6c/kg better. Cows could not maintain the levels of the previous sale and the better end of the cows averaged 5c/kg less. Export buyer activity was also not as good as the previous weeks.

Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock made to 580c to average from 531c to 534c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market made to 544c to average from 478c to 501c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed averaged 499c and made to 516c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers returning to the paddock made to 445c to average 423c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed made to 452c to average from 400c to 409c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed made to 468c to average 430c/kg.

Heavy weight steers to export processors averaged 461c and made to 474c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows averaged 346c and made to 360c/kg. Heavy weight 3 score cows averaged 374c and the best of the cows averaged 397c and made to 410c/kg. Heavy weight bulls were cheaper at 396c/kg.
