Warwick agents for the first sale of 2026 penned 1,649 lambs and 1,058 grown sheep. The overall quality and finish of the trade lambs slipped which resulted in most lines selling to cheaper trends, with the store lambs also struggling to maintain last years strong prices. Mutton sold firm to slightly easier trends.

Young light weight lambs to restockers sold from $84 to $160/head. Young lambs in the 16-18kg range to the butcher trade sold from $119 to $185/head. Young lambs over 18kg to processors sold from $184 to $192/head. Older lambs in the 18-20kg range to feed sold from $189 to $208/head. Lambs in the 20-22kg to the butcher trade sold from $200 to $236/head. Lambs suited to the wholesale meat trade sold from $222 to $269/head. Heavy lambs to processors sold from $300 to $338/head.

Crossbred and dorper hoggets to processors sold from $140 to $202/head. Dorper and crossbred ewes to processors sold from $120 to $194/head. Merino wethers to processors sold from $152 to $170/head. Ram lambs to the wholesale meat trade sold from $138 to $150/head. Meat rams to processors sold from $158 to $200/head.
