WARWICK SHEEP SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 20TH AUGUST 2025

Total Yarding: 1,133 (-1,579) | Sheep Yarding: 390 (-996) | Lamb Yarding: 743 (-583)

A large reduction in numbers at Warwick to 743 lambs and 390 grown sheep. All the regular buyers attended, however due to the smaller yarding not all operated. Resulting in the mutton selling to easier trends. The lighter numbers of lambs suited to the butcher and wholesale trade resulted in prices lifting from $3 to $20/head. Lambs to suit the feeder buyers sold to dearer trends.

Young light weight lambs to restockers sold from $70 to $82/head. Young lambs over 12kg to restockers sold from $90 to $134/head. Young lambs in the 16-18kg range to feed sold from $167 to $183/head. Older lambs in the 16-18kg range to butchers sold from $130 to $166/head. Lambs in the 18-24kg range to the wholesale meat trade sold from $193 to $276/head. Heavier lambs to processors sold from $268 to $292/head.

Hoggets to processors sold from $200 to $248/head. Light weight merino ewes to processors sold from $118 to $130/head. Heavy ewes to processors sold from $140 to $223/head. Merino wethers to processors sold to $180 with the dorper and crossbred wethers at $189 to $219/head. Ram lambs to processors sold from $111 to $215 with older rams at $120 to $165/head.
