Agents at Warwick penned 1,033 lambs and 661 grown sheep. The yarding contained several pens of prime trade lambs which sold to dearer trends of $18 to $27/head, also light weight young lambs to suit the restocker which sold to very strong competition again lifting prices. The mutton penned followed the southern markets and sold to dearer trends.
Young light weight lambs to restockers sold from $74 to $120/head with the butcher trade paying to $110/head. Older lambs in the 16-18kg range to restockers sold from $108 to $123 with those to the butcher trade at $117 to $130/head. Lambs in the 18-22kg range to feeder buyers sold from $156 to $172/head. Lambs to suit the wholesale meat trade sold from $160 to $222/head. Heavy trade crossbred and dorper lambs to processors sold from $223 to $285/head.
Merino hoggets to restockers sold from $76 to $97/head. Heavy hoggets to processors sold from $120 to $167/head. Light weight ewes to processors sold from $50 to $98 with the heavy crossbred and dorper ewes at $120 to $160/head. Merino wethers to processors sold from $130 to $149 with dorper wethers at $159 to $165/head. Ram lambs to the butcher trade sold from $96 to $172/head. Rams to processors sold from $70 to $80/head.
